Motivated candidates are invited to apply for ppstdoctoral positions in condensed matter and materials theory. These positions are officially affiliated with the Beijing CSRC (http://csrc.ac.cn) but will work under the supervision of Prof. Zhang.
The candidates should have a Ph.D degree in condensed matter theory or computational materials science, with strong research experience and have demonstrated original contributions to the field. The successful candidate should also be willing to participate in international collaborations (including visits to UB). Research topics include development of theoretical methods for calculating excited states properties of solids, theory of strongly correlated materials, design of functional materials, and theoretical modeling of high energy density materials.
Priority will be given to candidates with experience in any of the following areas:
(1) excited states calculations of solids,
(2) first-principles theory of complex oxides, or
(3) first-principles molecular dynamics simulations,
and to those who have demonstrated strong capability to conduct independent scientific research. The following qualities are expected to facilitate the scientific research at the Center: strong interest in computational materials science and condensed matter theory; proficient in writing and oral communication in English; and strong programming skills.
The Center offers competitive salary and attractive benefits package, even on an international scale. Initial appointment will be for one year, and is extendable for another one to two years depending on performance. Applications will be accepted until the positions are filled. Please send your application letter, CV and a list of 3 references to firstname.lastname@example.org .
